On horseback through Gironde
Throughout the year, during school holidays and weekends, a whole range of trekking breaks are available, in discovery of Médoc, the Gironde Estuary, South Gironde’s dense pine forests or the heritage of the Entre-Deux-Mers winegrowing estates.
Whatever your age, you’ll find what you’re looking for. There are also stays especially designed for teenagers in search of new experiences and looking to improve their riding skills, with 4 or 5 hours on horseback a day.
What could possibly be more of a joy than making your way through the Gironde countryside to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, where beaches stretching as far as the eye can see await you, and the surf washes against your horse’s hooves as you pass.
Set off in discovery of the Estuary’s riches – the dykes, polders, marshlands, ponds and fishermen’s huts that make up this little “Bordelais Camargue”.
A number of riding centres and trekking guides organise day, weekend and week-long breaks discovering Gironde on horseback.
