Behind the dunes lie the great lakes, sheltered from the ocean winds by maritime pines and ideal for family bathing as well as sailing, water skiing, kayaking and sea kayaking.

Beyond this unparalleled coastline, there is a host of nature reserves to be visited, including the Contaut Lagoon, the great wooded marsh, the Etang du Cousseau, and the Teich Ornithological Park, where countless species of birds have taken up residence.

There are also numerous areas reserved exclusively for walkers and cyclists.

For many years, the Gironde coastline has been rigorously protected, making it one of the best preserved anywhere in Europe.

The Gironde coast is known and loved throughout the world, guaranteeing a real change of scenery, unspoilt nature, a wide range of activities in full respect of the environment, and a perfect holiday setting for sports enthusiasts or anyone who simply enjoys lying back and doing nothing... and all on the doorstep of the largest forest in Europe.
