It was here, in 1950, that the world’s first family naturist holiday estate was inaugurated. The French Naturism Federation and the International Naturist Federation were also both founded here in 1953.

Thrill-seeking  boardsports enthusiasts, beginners and old hands alike, also flock to Vendays-Montalivet to enjoy sand-yachting, surfing, kitesurfing, bodyboarding and  longboarding. The bill of fare also includes riding, parachuting, tennis, archery and mountain biking...

Vendays-Montalivet is also famed for its great market, which numbers almost 200 stalls in the summertime – an ideal opportunity to sample local products and Médoc wines.
