Bordeaux fête le Vin

Every two years, this definite date for the diary for all wine lovers brings some 400,000 visitors and 80 Bordeaux and Aquitaine appellations together on the quays of Bordeaux. With a “Pass dégustation” in hand, everyone can taste the year’s wines from Bordeaux and its region before setting off with a “Pass vignobles” to visit the wine châteaux in Gironde.

Bordeaux Fête le Vin also hosts four fun-packed evenings and a whole host of other wonders (fireworks, sound and light shows in the heart of the UNESCO heritage) for families and friends alike.

Fête du vin nouveau et de la brocante

On the last weekend in October, the antique dealers on Rue Notre-Dame (in the Chartrons district) celebrate the arrival of new wine, called Bourru , by hosting a gigantic street market. Free wine-tasting sessions are put on for the almost 20,000 visitors who flock every year, to stroll along the streets to the rhythm of the music groups playing for the occasion.
