La Fête de la Lamproie - Sainte-Terre
In April, the lamprey comes to swim in the Dordogne river. This is the time to find out about, celebrate and taste the star fish of the Gironde, whose tender flesh – served in a leek and red wine sauce – is a popular delicacy. Antique hunters can also wander through the second-hand market and garage sale organised for the occasion, and make the most of having local producers on-site to taste regional produce and wine.
